Omron electroTHERAPY TENS Pain Relief

I am very pleased to introduce the Omron electroTHERAPY TENS Pain Relief. It is small and very easy to use and is very powerful! It is a must have for all of you at-home fitness lovers, gym junkies, runners, walkers, bascially anyone active. And its actually great for those of us who sit at a desk all day to relive the stress from computer work. You can even use it at work! . In as little as 15 minutes*, you can get powerful at-home therapy for a wide variety of muscle and joint pains, from small to big pains, when and where you need it most. They use thees in chiropractors & physical therapy offices and now you can use one at home. Mine has been a GIFT for my sore muscles.

Omron electroTHERAPY  is super easy to use, just stick the pads to wherever you ache and push a few buttons and in about 15 minutes you will feel like you just got a chiropractic massage- at least thats how I feel. The pads are small and the device is small so its easy to take with you when you travel - for those uncomfortable hotel beds, or with you to work and use while youre at your desk. It even comes with a handy carrying pouch.

Omron’s electroTHERAPY TENS unit works great for my pain relief and I think you should give it a try if you suffer from aches, pains, or muscle stiffness. The TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation.

How it works:
  • • Blocking the pain message to the brain
  • • Increasing endorphins, a natural pain reliever
  • • Improving blood circulation
Imagine yourself in control of the simple settings while sitting in your living room, bedroom, or at the office. It comes complete with three programs (for multiple body pains), and five intensity levels
Now that you know what it does, check out the roll-over pain points to see how to manage your pain in as little as 15 minutes. My husband and I both use our Omron & we wont live without it!

Fitness Favorites Presents The FIRM: Upper Body Split Review

Fitness Favorites presents digitally remastered FIRM favorites, some for the first time EVER on dvd!  Stay tuned for detailed reviews of more awesome Fitness Favorite dvds and below is my review of The FIRM: Upper Body Split, originally released on VHS in 1999. Be sure to check the new 2014 Firm workout calendar on Fitness Favorites now.

The FIRM: Upper Body Split
Tamela Hastie, Carissa Foster, Dale Brahbam, Jennifer Peluso, Taber Bruner, Tracie Long, Pam Cauthen, Jennifer Carmen, Nancy Tucker, Heidi Tanner, Lisay Kay, Stacey Milner-Collins, 2014

This is a 63 minute parts video that is strength focused but also includes cardio. The DVD is fully chaptered. You will need a small ball, weights, and a step for this routine.

After a fun ball warmup & stretch, exercises include a few floor core routine, dowel kick & punch, 4 limb routines, a lot of great pushup work, some row sets, pec fly, pelvic floor work, Allies "chica-kielbasa" routine (march, fast & slow jumps, & pivots), pliet & upright row, military press with toe taps, side delt raises, tri kickbacks, bi curls, another fun ball cardio routine, upper back fly, lying low back work, box core work,
and a final stretch.

I rate this a high intermediate routine that you can make more or less challenging depending on the weights you use. This is a very thorough workout that hits all the upper body muscles and includes some good cardio work. As always, the FIRM master instructors are wonderful and provide great cuing & form pointers. I received this dvd to review.

Cardio Exercises: knee pull, repeater knee, jog, side leap, mogul hops, shuffle floor touches, side step knee hops, glute raises, power jacks, diagonal hops, power knee punches, kick & punch, soccer drills, 1/4 turn squat hops, side scissor jacks &lunges, skater, and squat hops.

Mizuno Wave Paradox: Supportive Running Shoe Meets High Fashion!

I am a running/ exercise shoe junkie. I have tried pretty much every brand, well at least I thought I had. Enter the Mizuno Wave Paradox. I have always worn Mizuno cleats for softball (going way back to high school even!) but until recently, was not aware that Mizuno made running shoes! It gets better, they are created for runners that overpronate, are lightweight, are SUPER CUTE, and are SO supportive. I am in love with these and am SO excited to have discovered Mizuno - my fav cleat brand is now my fav running shoe.

Mizuno has combined everything they learned about control shoes with their famous lightweight construction methods to create a shoe for excessive overpronation control that is very light and will not weigh you down. A Smoothride engineered midsole with Fan Wave Technology provides a stable ride from landing to toe-off. I am gearing up for the upcoming 5K season here and these have been a Godsend. The cushion and support that these provide really help with my stiff knee & ankle and of course are amazing for overpronation. The sole is supportive & cushioned from heel to toe. Unlike some of the other brands that thin out so much in the toe. I want all the support & cushion I can get for these joints!

Now you may be thinking “Support shoe”…and think of those old nursing shoes that are super clunky (not to mention super ugly) and far from modern and fresh.  I do not want or need bulk or clunk in my running support shoes. In today’s modern era of technology, there’s no reason ANY running shoe should not look good.  At least, that’s how Mizuno saw it when they set out to create the Wave Paradox – the lightest, sleekest support shoe on the market. LOVE LOVE LOVE the color scheme and design pattern on these. Seriously hot pink & neon green with the black & white is beyond cute & super unique. I get compliments on these every time I wear them. Check out the bottom of the sole- even that is cute
The tendency of running shoe brands is to slap on extra material to the outsole, adding a ton of extra weight, and then calling it a support shoe, my weak ankle cant handle all this extra weight when trekking along my race route. What I love is that Mizuno took a different route, focusing on the shoe’s sidewall and engineering an extremely lightweight support “chassis,” at only 8.6 ounces in the women’s shoe, which gives you all the stability without the added weight that other supportive running shoes have.

Overpronators (runners whose feet roll to far inward) are ecstatic to now sport an unexpected support shoe option. The Wave Paradox has a totally unique look, inspired by the repetitive pattern of Japanese umbrellas. The shoe’s super cute pattern has flowing lines that appear to be curved but are actually straight, further adding to the shoe’s paradoxical beauty. I love love love the look. These are cute enough to wear with jeans on a casual day but of course are made to train. Gear up for your next road race, treadmill sweatfest and all of your exercise options.

Heather has a BFA in dance from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and is ACE certified. Heather is super fit -her physique is amazing! Shes a fantastic instructor and I cant wait for more workouts from her!

MOXIE2
Heather Corndorf, 2014

Heather works out alone in a spacious studio for this 23 minute cardio focused routine. You wont need any equipment for this workout. Heather provides modifications for most exercises so you can really go at own intensity level.

After a warm up, exercises include step knee-hops, grape vine, plyo lunges, burpee to push-ups, plank shifts, plank hip twists, elevator planks, jab cross power knee, football run, squat knee pull, 1 leg squat balance series, hip shuffle up & knee pulls back, squat lunge to handstand variations, and a stretch.

I rate this a high intermediate routine. Heather offers lots of great modification options and many of the exercises are progressive so you can really work out at your own level. The exercises are athletic and the routine flows together very well. I received this dvd to review.
