All new from Advocare is the Can You 24 Workout System. Seven twenty-four minute workouts on two dvds in one convenient dvd case. Workouts include cardio, shredding, toning, fusion, and core work- everything you need to get or stay in shape.

This 24 minute mostly cardio workout consists of two rounds of twelve exercises with a one minute break in-between. You wont need any equipment for these workouts.
After a warump, exercises include: lateral bounds, punches, plyo lunges, hammer knee pulls, low ¼ turn hops, renegade pushups, plank knee tucks, shuffle knee ups, burpees, kicks, jack knee tucks, and concludes with a c/d & stretch.
This is more challenging than Melt One and I rate it a higher intermediate workout. Jenny is a great instructor with excellent form pointers & friendly encouragement. These workouts are truly customizable and you work at your own pace and your own level. Great set to grow with.

Brooke leads this 24 minute toning, strength, and cardio routine in a nice studio. There are two background exercisers each providing a different intensity level. You will need light dumbbells and a stability ball for this workout. They workout barefoot and utilize light poundage throughout.
You start right in with plank, plank jacks, and Mt. climbers and then move into lunge hops to squat hops with arm work, weighted full body crunches, pushups, running lunges, hop knee up w/ tri work, balance stick w/ tri kickbacks, plank & tri kickbacks, plank hip dips, side lying tri pushup series w/ leg raises & knee pulls, pliet side reaches, curtsy bi series, pec fly with inner thigh ball squeezes, floor core work with the ball, and bridge work before a stretch & cooldown.
This is a nonstop advanced workout. TONS of unique exercises and combos with no down time- when youre working your lower body your arms are static or moving. Brookes great instruction and wonderful encouragement keep your energy up through this tough workout. I received this dvd to review.

The five segments are from FIRM Classic Volumes 2-6 and feature Janet Jones-Gretzky, Sandahl Bergman, Susan Harris, LaReine Chabut, and Jayne Poteet.

Standing, lying, and seated stretches really hit all muscle groups and many combine muscles to really get the most bang out of your stretching minutes. Gain flexibility and relieve tired & sore muscles with these short to the point routines. The instruction is spot on and the instructors form pointers ensure a proper stretch. I received this dvd to review.

Amy leads this 62 minute cardio and then floor toning workout in a nice studio. Amy and the two background exercises each work out at a different intensity level allowing you to modify your workout to meet your needs. The advanced modifier utilizes light dumbbells throughout.
You jump right into fun punch combos adding: squats, hops, kicks, knee pulls, jacks, static & pulsing lunges, curtsies & kicks. Other exercises include: switch kicks, jack kick punch combos, flying jacks, squat & speed bag, side lunge leg raises, speed bag skis. After the cardio you move into 10 minutes of floor work: leg raises & shoots, unique bridge work, oblique crunches, and straight leg bicycle and concludes with a stretch.
This was the least challenging of the set- but still a high intermediate that definitely worked my muscles and got my heart pumping! Amy is a great instructor that provides excellent cuing, motivation, and wonderful form pointers. Lots of unique combos and a fun kickboxing workout! I received this dvd to review.

Mia works out with one backgrounder in this 19 min core & stretch workout. Mia performs the intermediate and advanced options and the backgrounder does the beginner. You wont need any equipment for this workout. The countdown timer has a stopping point for beginners, intermediates, and advanced.

After a quick warmup you move into 12 core exercises including: hi & low planks, superman, low back leg scissors, side plank, bridge, boat, elevator planks, side plank hi dips, leg drops, prone swimmer, and single leg stretch. The workout concludes with an 8 minute stretch.

This is an intermediate workout, but truly offers a customized workout – you choose your intensity and duration of each exercise. Mia is a great instructor and this workout does a great job of hitting the entire core & lower back!

This is a 45 “Parts” cardio workout led by some FIRM favorites! You will need a Fanny Lifter, dowel (optional), and light dumbbells for this workout.

After a warmup and floor ab work, you move into a fun combination of box aerobics, light 4 limb aerobics, hi and low impact, and some light strength work using the dowel & box. Exercises include “FIRM” favorite exercises such as: straddle step, heel toe heel, toe tap bi & tri 4 limb, march, plyos, kicks, & knee ups. The workout concludes with a cooldown & stretch.

This is an intermediate workout that is easy to follow and easy to modify up or down to suit your needs. Each instructor provides great cuing & form reminders. Fun & upbeat music make this a high fun factor workout. Tons of variety and a great pace make the time fly by. I received this dvd to review.

Jenny leads this 24 min cardio w/o in a small brick gym with 2 backgrounders. Each exerciser performs a different intensity and their exercise durations are shorter or longer (beginner shorter duration, advanced longer). There is a countdown timer and an exercise tracker on screen. You will not need any equipment for this workout.

Two rounds of twelve exercises are performed twice with a one min break in between. After a warmup, exercises include: moguls, jab-cross, lunges, chop & hammer hops, frog hop jacks, push up knee pulls, modified Mt. climbers, fast feet, walk out burpee- punch, jump shot and concludes with a cooldown & stretch.

This workout is truly customizable to your intensity level- you choose the intensity and duration of each exercise. Following the advanced exerciser I got a high intermediate workout –but the athletic exercises are very easy to modify up or down to suit the needs of all exercises. Jenny is a great instructor with a nice demeanor & provides excellent form pointers and some motivation. Cant wait to try the rest of the set!

Sadie leads this 49 min barre & cardio workout in a small studio with 2 backgrounders. Each exerciser performs a different intensity level. You will need a pair of light dumbbells, a resistance band, a small playground ball, and a chair or barre for this workout.

You start right in with: pliet calf raises with upper body toning, weighted pliet jacks, plank leg raise pushups, Mt. climbers, band dip & front/ lat raise, tri pushups, plank gorilla hops, chataranga hold. Barre work includes: curtsy glute pinches, attitude leg circles outer thigh & oblique pinches, inner thigh ball squeezes, standing leg circles, and concludes with floor core using the playground ball before a seated stretch.

This is an advanced workout that is a nonstop muscle burner with some nice cardio intensifiers. Very easy to modify to suit your needs so great for most all exercisers.  Sadie does a great job of keeping all muscles engaged, she is a great instructor that provides constant form reminders & cuing. Unique combo of ballet, toning, and cardio. I received this dvd to review.

Francie leads this 45 minute nonstop cardio & toning workout in a small studio with 2 backgrounders, one provides some lower intensity modifications. You will need a stretchy band, light (1-2#) dumbbells, and gliding discs (or paper plates) for this workout.

Dispersed into the workout are blocks of 6 cardio/ tabata bursts followed by 10 seconds of active toning work. You jump right into: disc burpees, moving Mt. climbers, fast paced 1 leg squats & arm raises, arms extended squats, weighted toe touch kicks, weighted fl touch hops, V sit floor leg series, burpee variations, weighted scissor jacks, dips & band triceps work, weighted floor core, plank toe taps, and ends with a cooldown & stretch.

This is a nonstop advanced workout- even Darby looks super worked by the end of this one! I started with 8# weights and within minutes went down to 5, 3, and then settled on 2’s. Francie keeps you moving the entire time and there is never a dull or wasted moment- when your working your triceps- your moving your legs or holding a static squat. She really makes the most of your workout minutes. If you cant keep her pace- the timed intervals allow you to go at your own pace. My heart was pumping and my muscles will certainly feel this tomorrow. SUPER unique and effective workout.  I received this dvd to review.

TapouT XT Review: Sprawl & Brawl



Keep reading for my review of disc 9, Ripped Conditioning of the TapouT XT set. This set is led by certified MMA Coach, Mike Karpenko and includes 12 super-charged mixed martial arts style DVD workouts – Everything you need comes in included in the set! All the dvds are packaged securely and in a space saving package!

Mike leads this 46 minute cardio workout in a MMA gym set with a group of exercisers. You will need your optional TapouT weighted gloves for this workout. There are music and subtitle options and an on-screen countdown timer.

Each exercise is performed for 30-90 seconds. Mike includes some nice knee, elbow, & lunge combos, quite a few pushup variations, and some nice sit up & crunch variations  in this workout. Other exercises include: bridge -punch-situp- elbow strike, elevator plank to side plank hip drops, burpee variations, bob & weave & punch, hi knee run, explosive pushups, Mt climber - plank tucks, and kneeling -drop to pushup. The workout ends with a killer move: 70 seconds of kneeling -drop to pushup- Mt Climber. 

There are definitely some advanced exercises but overall I rate this a high intermediate workout. I wore weighted gloves and got a great cardio w/o. This is a fun fighting style workout with a lot of unique exercises! I received this dvd to review.
