Workout and Multigrain Bread Recipe

Today's Workout:
*total w/o time 50 min + stretch
I just love all the TransFirmer w/o's! Tons of fun but still tough. BSS3 (aka deathbox series) is also fun. My guess for the next infomercial: A new and improved version of the TransFirmer. Only because they all of a sudden stopped manufacturing TF's. But they are still making FL's, which are older. So that is just my guess based on nothing more than the want for new TF w/o's. Too bad if they make a new TF the dvds wont be available seperatly for a LONG time. Oh well If Im right-it will be worth the wait!
Today's Recipe: Multigrain Bread

1 Lb small loaf
¾ cup plus 2 TBS water
1 TBS butter, softened
1 cup flour
¾ cup whole wheat flour
2/3 cup 10 grain cereal (I used Bob's Red Mill-pic below)
2 TBS packed brown sugar
1 tsp salt
2 ¼ teaspoons regular active dry yeast
OR
2 tsp bread machine yeast or quick-acting dry yeast

Add ingredients in order listed and follow bread machine instructions.

Today's Tip: Garlic and Onions: This dynamic duo of foods contains phytochemicals that break down fatty deposits in the body, while also breaking down cholesterol; killing viruses, bacteria, and fungi; and protecting against heart disease. With a little help from garlic and onions, you can burn fat while warding off illness. (this is from the same BBC article)

Sunday Funny

And here is some humor for the day, "Aerobics in Hell" courtesy of The Far Side

In the bubble it says " Three more, two more, one more. Okay. Five-thousand leg lifts. Right leg first. Ready, Set...!"

Waiki Meatballs Recipe

Today's Workout:
-Sweatin to the Oldies III, done on my rebounder w/ weighted gloves
-8 min ab w/o from Kelsies Kettlebell w/o
*total w/o time 60 min + stretch

I found this Richard Simmons VHS at the thrift store this weekend for $1 and couldnt pass it up. Richard is always good for a laugh (or 2) and he has nice upbeat music in his w/o's. I was wanting some variety for my rebounding w/o's and thought this would adapt well-it did.

Today's Recipe: Waikiki Meatballs. I served these over brown rice w/ a side salad, and corn on the cob. Very good!

Meatballs:
1 egg
5 oz evaporated milk
1 cup oats (recipe called for quick oats but I used regular and had not issues)
1 cup chopped onion
1 tsp salt
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp pepper
3/4 lb extra lean ground beef
3/4 lb ground turkey or chicken breast

Combine egg, milk, oats, onion, & spices in a large bowl. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into balls and place in greased pan, bake uncovered at 350* for 45 min or until cooked thouroghly.

Pineapple Sauce:
1 20 oz can pineapple tidbits in juice
1 8 oz can pineapple juice
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup splenda
1/2 cup lemon jice
4 Tbs cornstarch
4 tbs soy sauce
1/2 cup sauteed onion
meatballs
Drain the juice from the pineapple tidbits (reserve pineapple tidbits in can), combine with the can of juice, sugars, lemon juice, cornstarch, & soy sauce in saucepan. Cook & stir well until sauce boils & thickens. Fold in sauteed onion, pineapple tidbits, and meatballs.

Buffalo Chicken -Bleu Cheese Wraps Recipe

Today's Recipe: Buffalo Chicken wraps with crumbled bleu cheese. Grill chicken breast on the Foreman grill, shred it, and toss w/ some hot wing sauce. Heat tortillas in a dry frying pan-remove. Place chicken in tortilla, top w/ crumbled bleu cheese. I used La Tortilla Factory tortillas (low fat, high fiber) and 25% reduced fat bleu cheese crumbles. Add a little more hot sauce if you like it spicy. YUM!

Tip: Viactiv Calcium Chews not just good for your bones-also delicious! Each chew has 50% of your daily calcium requirement, 100% of vitamin D, 50% of Vitamin K, and only 20 calories. I like the chocolate, chocolate mint, and caramel ones. Makes a great "dessert" for lunch.

The FIRM Volume 4 Infamous Dork Dance

The other day I mentioned the Infamous Firm Vol 4 Dork Dance that I had never seen. Well someone coincidentally just posted a link to it on VF, so for your viewing pleasure: Dork Dance starts at 9:50. Fantastic!

Today's Workout:
-Firm Vol 5 - I can't find a clip of this one anywhere so here's a pic:

-16ish minutes of Hard Core Fusion
*total w/o time 60 min + stretch

As a side note, I always skip over the pre-workout stretch in Firms. And when I combine w/os I usually skip 1 w/u & 1 c/d and I always do my own stretch instead of whatever the video does. Oh w/u= warm up and c/d= cool down.

Volume 5 is my least fav Classic. I def still like it but I used to always do that bonus rewind thing-which really made it a grueling LB w/o. I'm glad I didn't do that today. Instead I opted for HCF. BSS5 is by far my least fav set. Though the w/o's are good, the instructors are kind of annoying in the series "I didnt give you many" "Tummy, barf barf barf..." And they use ridiculously light weights and do pushups on their knees. Im always thinking "Girl, I know you can do better than that!" Obviously Gaiam is targeting a different group of at home exercisers...
Oh weigh-in: I am 3 lbs down from my norm. I feel that the scale has somehow been tampered w/...
