Barlates Body Blitz Review: Resista-Barre Total Body Workout with Linda Wooldridge

Barlates Body Blitz: Resista-Barre Total Body Workout

This 95 minute workout contains four pre-mixes and is fully chaptered. You can play all, select a premix, or go straight to the section you want via the chapter menu. The workout contains a warm up & cool down as well. Linda works out alone in a studio gym. You will need a chair, a stretchy band, and a fitness loop for these workouts. Modifications come up on the screen for some exercises.

Cardio Legs: (11 min) Linda uses a resistance loop for all exercises in this segment. Exercises include: punch & side toe taps, abduction & punch downs, squat -abduct with rainbow arms, mambo front & back, 1/2 circle leg sweep & tap, mambo chasse, V step adding squats, heel digs, rear leg taps & raises, and side to side shifts. Linda uses big arm movements and the pace is quick so your HR stays up there!

Barre Legs: (23 min) Linda utilizes the loop for all exercises in this segment. Exercises include glute raise adding a forward hinge, glute raise pulses, side to side shifts, walking squats, side lunge adding abduction, attitude push backs, standing donkey kick series, standing ham curls, plies, walking plies, plie and inner thigh sweep, and standing hamstring extensions.

Upper Body: (21 min) Linda utilizes a resistance band for all of the exercises in this segment. Exercises include rows & pulses, chest press, arm scissors, overhead press, arm circle series, overhead pull down adding a torso twist, bi curl series, rotator cuff work, tri pulse backs, kickbacks, and bent row.

Glutes on the Mat: (15 min) You will use your resistance loop for all the exercises in this segment. Exercises include: prone position: leg raises adding press outs, single leg raises, side leg press outs, ham push ups, reverse donkey kicks, side lying L position pulses & sweeps and clam.

Abdominals: (11 min) Linda incorporates a resistance band into all of these exercises, behind your back, on your feet, or on your shins. Exercises include V sit double crunches with pushouts, leg extensions, side tap outs, diagonal push outs, toe drops, V sit & punch, sit ups adding rotation, and V twists.

I rate these high intermediate routines. I definitely felt the burn on all of these segments. TONS of variety, chapters, and premixes ensures I will get a ton of use out of this DVD. Great unique exercises. Linda provides excellent instruction & form reminders. I really enjoy Linda's instruction style and look forward to trying her other workouts. I received this DVD to review.

REVIEW: Ballet Beautiful Swan Arms Cardio

This DVD contains three workout segments that can be played together or individually. You won't need an equipment for this workout. Mary works out alone in an open white space.

Swan Arms Cardio: (32 min) after a warm up, Mary performs a series of exercises and then adds tendu & abduction to them. Mary includes large swan arm movements to keep your heart rate up with no impact. Exercises include: demi pliet, 2nd & 4th position plies, rear leg raises, front leg raises, balance holds, and passe. Each exercise is repeated for 16 reps then built on.

Mat Work: Abs, thighs & Butt: (17 min) Mary adds in large swan arm movements to the exercises. You will do 3-4 sets of each exercise. Exercises include c-curve drops, c-curve with rotation, V drops, side lying outer thigh raise, leg circles and 1/2 circles tapping front & back. Mary intersperses some short stretches.

Elongated Stretch: (6 min) seated stretches for hamstring, calf, chest openers, and spinal twists. Lying stretches include: figure 4 stretch, cross knee pull, and spinal twist.

I rate this an intermediate routine. All exercises are easy to follow and Mary's instruction is great. Love the no impact cardio and I did feel the burn in the mat segment. I found these routines to be unique & fun. I received this DVD to review.

Beachbody REVIEW: 21 Day Fix Extreme Dirty 30 Extreme Workout Featuring Autumn Calabrese


If you have tried the original 21 Day Fix and loved it like I did, and are ready for the next level - 21 Day Fix Extreme is your answer. Same awesome format, same awesome instructor, just bumped up a level. The workouts are short -still around 30 minutes each, but they're extreme. The eating plan is simple, and the program comes complete with color coded food storage containers, nutrition guide, recipes, fitness info & more. This is the EXACT program that Autumn herself uses to get ready for a competition or photo shoot.

This is a 32 minute total body strength workout. Autumn works out in a gym set with a group of background exercisers, one providing some easier modifications. You will need dumbbells for this workout. You will perform 3 rounds of 2 one minute exercises, each round is performed 2X. You get a short rest between each exercise.


After a warm up, exercises include: curtsy with weighted half circle arms, squat & military press, puhsup renegade row, side lunge & sword pull, single leg deadlift & upright row, lunge & row, balance stance hammer curl, single arm & leg plank knee to elbow pull and a quick stretch.

I rate this an advanced workout that accomplishes a lot in only 30 min. The weights are a bit lighter as most exercises work both UB & LB at the same time, but you are constantly working for the full 30 minutes so I def felt it in both my UB & LB. Autumn provides great cuing and motivation. I received this DVD to review.
